This blog will be an avenue to share the processes and ideas I encounter and create with my photography.
I often end up in places I never expected to be. Following the whims of life has led me to volunteer for a year in Ecuador, live for three years in England, travel solo through Morocco, and more recently complete a Master of Fine Arts in Photography. I officially graduated from the Academy of Arts in San Francisco this past June of 2022. So this next journey is in the arts and I could not be happier to explore the beauty and creativity of not only photography, but also the people, the history, and the visions of a language built on emotion and interpretation, whatever your medium might be.Â
My thesis project at the Academy of Art focused on the use of a 4x5 view camera and film imagery to describe the human connection to nature through Ansel Adams type landscapes. As I dove deeper into the concept I explored the use of historic printing processes to better represent the timeless landscapes I captured.
I have thus been drawn to alternative processes and the use of contact printing to create Kallitypes, Cyanotypes, and Salt prints. I am also exploring pinhole photography.Â
My next post will share images and details of my first show, "Into the Woods and Wilds".  Stay tuned as well for further posts describing the view camera, Kallitype and Cyanotype processes, and other alternative photographic methods. Â
Thank you for visiting!
