Obstructed Landscapes
I do not seek obstruction, but am instead drawn to it. In the same moment that the way forward is blocked, I feel the protection of what surrounds me. I can look forward but not be fully exposed.
Obstructed Landscapes represents this feeling and reflects obstacles present in life. These images may seem peaceful, but they also have a component of melancholy. In the midst of difficulty and the winters of life there is always hope and beauty that can carry us through until new life begins again.
I want the viewer to be able to connect and identify with these images on an emotional level, perhaps sensing the obstacles in their own life and the inherent beauty that lies in the details of life itself.
